Forge World Varagyr WIP 03

With the original five Varagyr converted to correct some posing issues and all of the fur resculpted attention has turned to the sixth pack member. With five unique models making the sixth posed a challenge to achieve a differing aesthetic, as such the potential duplicate model was chosen to be the Squad’s Thegn allowing for a little more customisation.

the fur was resculpted to match the rest of the squad and his frost-axe switched out for a chainfist. A grenade harness as added to the top of the carapace.

Whilst building this model a second thegn was converted up to lead the second proposed varagyr pack.

Geigor Fell-hand (re-imagined) WIP 01

With the construction of a swathe of new Grey Slayer packs the decision was made to revisit to Geigor Fell-hand and bring his aesthetic into line with the core of the army.

Design Note: There are a couple of minor things that have never sat right with my about the official Geigor model; 1, his armour is particularly ornate, more so than many other characters within the heresy series yet by profile he only wears power armour, not artificer armour, i felt a more spartan aesthetic would suit the claw-leader more. 2, excessive wargear, the official model wields a combat blade which isn’t listed in his wargear serves no practical application on the model other than to make him look cluttered by having his bolter slung.

Using one the upgrade torsos and a collection of MkIII parts a replacement Geigor has been developed.

A couple of parts from the original model have been retained to keep his identity as a character, the variant should pauldron and accompanying legion symbol adorned pauldron. A combat knife in its scabbard has been added as nod towards the original model.

Grey Slayers WIP 02

The third pack is completely assembled. This pack being 15 totally new models (the previous packs already had a couple of completed models).

This completes the assembly of the grey slayers, leaving a little green-stuff work to tidy up some armour joints and add armoured gauntlets to the double handed axes to hide the wulfen hands.

The shield walls look great assembled in formation together, on to painting!
